James Cowper’s Stewart Lambert named ‘Dealmaker of the Year’
Thames Valley / Southampton accountants and business advisers James Cowper is celebrating following Corporate Finance partner Stewart Lambert being named ‘Dealmaker of the Year’ at The Business magazine’s annual awards (22 April).
Stewart was awarded Dealmaker of the Year in the tough ‘£25million and above’ category beating corporate financiers from Grant Thornton and venture capitalists LDC. The award was made for Stewart’s role in selling the Harlow based merchandising manufacturer PPE Limited to HL Display AB (publ), a Swedish listed business for £27m.

Sold in February 2010 for £27m, PPE Ltd is one of Europe's leading designers and manufacturers of bespoke Point of Purchase (POP) displays and merchandising solutions as well as standard products, servicing mainly brand manufacturers. The company is especially strong within ‘secondary placement’ – exposure off the store shelf – including floor stands built using a combination of different materials such as metal, plastic and wood, combined with printed effects. PPE Ltd currently employs approximately 280 staff and is located in Harlow.
