Splunk

It is easy to see why Brian Haynes is so excited to be leading the EMEA expansion of Splunk, a fast growing business with an innovative product, a quality client base and a potentially enormous market.

The business is at a pivotal time in its progress, both in terms of the EMEA sales expansion and also the wider business.  With a product that is attracting household names as customers and a technology that, to the layman, would appear to be applicable to almost any sector, the opportunities are almost limitless.

In order to deliver that growth potential Brian will need to retain, motivate and grow a high quality team to deliver sales growth whilst supporting existing customers.  As the business grows he may need to build greater structure to ensure that he has a trusted team to manage the operation, allowing him to focus on strategy and sales leadership.

Brian’s views on the business’ physical environment are interesting and demonstrate an acute awareness and understanding of the culture of the business.  Growth typically puts significant stress and strain on a business culture and Brian’s determination to retain the culture as the business grows is clear.

In many ways the timing of the group’s growth may prove to be fortunate as Brian may find better quality people are available than might be the case in stronger economic times.  Similarly with the challenge of relocation on the horizon, availability of commercial property in the Thames Valley is better than it has been for many years, giving Brian the opportunity to source the right property to facilitate growth now and in the future, whilst retaining the business’ clear culture and identity.
