Regus

Regus is one of the success stories in the commercial real estate sector.  It has grown dramatically over its 21 year history to now offer flexible office space in 1,200 locations in 90 different countries.  The company is headquartered in Luxembourg and listed on the London Stock Exchange, bringing with it a complex compliance burden.

Celia appears to have enjoyed a terrific career with Regus, yet she will no doubt be aware of the challenges facing large, listed companies.  The serviced offices part of the commercial real estate sector needs to be fleet of foot and able to respond quickly to changing market demands, even more so when its clients are small and entrepreneurial businesses.  The Thames Valley real estate market is competitive and there is currently plenty of vacant office space available, often on very flexible and competitive rates.  Celia will no doubt be very aware that it can be difficult for large, listed organisations to ‘turn the juggernaut around’ to meet changing economic conditions and customer demands.

Regus is proud of its environmental credentials having taken many steps to reduce its carbon footprint.  The commercial real estate sector is faced with having to meet tough new environmental standards and carbon emission targets and Regus appears to be ahead of the game.  The organisation might wish to conduct a formal environmental audit to show its investors, customers and staff that it takes its environmental impact seriously and to benchmark future efforts and performance.
