James Cowper Climate Change Debate

The issue of climate change is dictating much of global Governmental policy and, therefore, affecting all of our lives  - whether in terms of the cars we drive, our recycling habits or the development of innovations to reduce the impact of man upon the environment.  We were therefore, delighted to host so many of our contacts and clients at the debate last night at the prestigious Oxford Union on whether climate change really is one of the significant issues facing us today.

Our key speakers – Mark Lynas and Nicola McConville (proposing the motion) and Marcus Gibson and David Whitehouse (opposing), joined the ranks of such illustrious figures as Benazir Bhutto, Lech Walesa, Ronald Reagan – and Kermit the Frog (!) by speaking in the Union’s debating chamber.

After an impassioned  debate – joined by strong contributions from the floor – the final voting concluded in favour of the proposition by 62%.

Thanks to all who came along and who contributed to the success of the evening.
