In Reading, the firm has been appointed by Berkshire Maestros and Parents And Children Together (PACT), and in Newbury by The Watermill Theatre.
Mike Farwell, a partner and head of James Cowper’s Charities team, said: “We are delighted have been appointed by Berkshire Maestros, PACT and The Watermill Theatre. They are all fantastic charities with excellent reputations across the Thames Valley.
“At James Cowper we take great pride in the work we do for local and national charities. The firm has a strong track record in this sector; we understand the issues and pressures facing charities and are able to respond accordingly.”
Berkshire Maestros is a charitable trust providing music education opportunities to children and young people in Berkshire. It is regarded as one of the country’s finest youth music organisations in the country and provides music lessons for thousands of children each and every week.
Parents And Children Together (PACT) is a voluntary adoption agency and has worked to strengthen the relationships between children and their parents from vulnerable backgrounds for 100 years. PACT is throughout 2011 celebrating its centenary year with a packed calendar of special fund-raising and celebratory events.
We are delighted to have been appointed by The Watermill Theatre. The award-winning theatre, which operates as a charitable trust, is one of the most successful producing theatres in the country and in the 2009/10 season attracted a combined audience of more than 120,000. It also delivers an extensive programme of education and community activities in the local area.”
Commenting on why Berkshire Maestros appointed James Cowper, its Chief Executive, Philip Litchfield, said: “We were impressed with both the quality of the service that James Cowper will provide and with the cost. We were very aware of the way in which the company makes you feel a valued organisation and of the intention to get to know our work thoroughly to ensure that they provide the best possible service.”
James Cowper acts for a number of charities across the Thames Valley and further afield including Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust, Berkshire Youth Music Trust, Arundel Castle and a number of independent schools, including The Oratory School in Reading.
