James Cowper’s Charity team appointed by British Dyslexia Association
Thames Valley accountants and business advisers James Cowper has been appointed by the British Dyslexia Association as its auditors and advisers.
It is estimated that 10% of the British population are dyslexic, and 4% severely so. Many of the dyslexic people across the UK, whether adults or children, are unable to fulfill their potential as a large percentage of the population still do not understand what dyslexia is, the difficulties which the condition presents and do not know how best to support them.
The Bracknell-based British Dyslexia Association campaigns for a dyslexia friendly society where barriers to dyslexic people do not exist. The charity works to ensure that all people with dyslexia fulfill their potential.
Alex Peal, partner at James Cowper, said: “Dyslexia is not an obvious difficulty and can remain hidden for many years. As a result, dyslexic people have to overcome numerous barriers to make a full contribution to society. The British Dyslexia Association does an amazing job as the voice of dyslexic people across the UK and we are enormously proud to have been appointed its auditors.”
William Plant, honorary treasurer of the British Dyslexia Association, adds: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of James Cowper as auditors and advisers to the charity. James Cowper was able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the charity sector and our requirements. We are looking forward to working with Alex and his team.”
