James Cowper strengthens Southampton Corporate Tax and Technology team
Southampton accountants and business advisers James Cowper has strengthened its Corporate Tax and Technology team with the appointment of Senior Tax Manager Alex Nicholson. Alex joined James Cowper on 4 April from the Southampton office of Smith & Williamson.
Alex brings to the firm considerable expertise in acting for owner managed and technology businesses. He regularly advises on matters such as maximising entitlements to capital allowances, research and development tax credits, managing group tax liabilities, transfer pricing and business reorganisations.
Commenting on his appointment Alex said: “James Cowper is making considerable investment into its Southampton office. The firm has identified a gap in the market, acting for fast growing and mid-sized businesses, and particularly those with a technology focus, for which we can provide a first rate, full service offering at a more competitive rate than many national accountancy firms. The firm has an enviable client base and this is an exciting opportunity for me to develop my career further and support the continued growth of James Cowper’s Southampton office.”
Steve Clarke, James Cowper’s Managing Partner adds: “I am delighted to welcome Alex to the firm. He has a strong track record in acting for technology led companies and an intimate understanding of the Southampton marketplace. We all look forward to the contribution he will make.”
In January, James Cowper announced the permanent relocation of Mark Munro to the Business Services team in Southampton from Oxford. James Cowper opened its Southampton office in December 2009 following its merger with Buchanans.
