Peter Whalley is head of Business Restructuring and Insolvency. He specialises in survival strategies for underperforming businesses including the negotiation (or renegotiation) of debt and equity finance terms, where appropriate.
He advises on both the acquisition and disposal of distressed businesses and provides guidance on directors’ responsibilities to those controlling companies under financial pressure. Finally, Peter advises boards, creditors and potential business acquirers about corporate insolvency procedures, when required.
He has built up a wide range of sector specific experience including aerospace, automotive, insurance, IT, marine, property and construction, retail, recruitment, telecoms and textiles. As well as working in the UK, he has undertaken assignments in Europe the US and East Africa.
Peter is a chartered accountant. He holds a diploma in Corporate Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales which also licenses him to accept formal insolvency appointments. He is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
